BATON ROUGE - A man arrested Friday accused of robbing a bank has a checkered past and has even been tied to a bank robbery last week, days after he was released from jail.

Labarick Refuge, 46, faces a first degree robbery charge for the heist and run Friday. He was arrested at a school running from authorities.

Refuge is believed to have robbed another bank on November 1st. Then, the Regions Bank on Siegen was hit. There, detectives collected a hat the suspect wore and matched it to Refuge's DNA.

According to East Baton Rouge Parish Prison records, Refuge was released from prison October 28th, just days before the Siegen robbery. He was serving a six month sentence after he pled guilty to a criminal damage charge.

Also on his record: in 2003 a Brusly officer said Refuge tried to run him over. The officer shot out Refuge's car tires after he stole a video poker machine.

In 2012, Iberville Parish deputies arrested him for aggravated assault.
