Accused rapist back in jail
NEW ORLEANS - A former male model is back in the Orleans Parish Prison after a judge found that he violated his bond by flirting with college sophomores during a Carnival parade at his parents' home. He was there on house arrest.
The Times-Picayune reports Dean Kelly is charged with two counts forcible rape, felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile, possession of child pornography and second-degree kidnapping. Kelly is awaiting trial on accusations that he raped a 14-year-old girl in February 2005, then a 17-year-old girl several months later.
He was released from jail last year on a $1.5 million bond.
After a hearing Tuesday, state District Court judge Tracey Flemings-Davillier ordered that Kelly's bond be increased by $1 million, to a total of $2.5 million, and had him returned to jail.
