Accused killer's run from the law ends dramatically
PRAIRIEVILLE- A 37-year-old accused killer's run from police ended in a dramatic takedown in Ascension Parish Thursday evening.
State Police said Antwine Smith will be booked on a homicide warrant from New Orleans and local charges related to a pursuit on I-10 that eventually moved to county roads before ending near the Lake Harbor neighborhood. State Troopers said the vehicle he was in was going as fast as 100 mph.
Helicopter and bloodhounds searched for Smith after he ran from the vehicle when it stopped. He was eventually apprehended.
The homicide charge stems from an incident in July.
