A dropped cell phone and an incriminating text message lead to the arrest of a Denham Springs man on burglary charges.
Deputies got a 911 call Friday morning when a resident spotted someone breaking into his car.
The suspect got away, but a cell phone was found in the area.
Investigators found a text message on it that said "u wanna rob somebody tonight, I'll do it u jst gotta drive."
Deputies managed to contact the owner of the phone and convince him to meet to get it back.
Instead of getting the phone, Cody Pounds, 19, was arrested.
He confessed to the burglary.
Deputies say Pounds is responsible for several other vehicle burglaries.
He is in the Livingston Parish Detention Center on a $45,000 bond.
