A one-car accident near Campti has claimed the life of a Natchitoches Parish teenager.

State police say 14-year-old Colton T. Gourdon of Clarence was not wearing a seatbelt when the car he was riding left the road and hit a tree.

Troopers say the 13-year-old driver of the car was taken to LSU Hospital in Shreveport for treatment of serious injuries.

He was not wearing a seat belt.

They did not identify the driver because of his age.

Authorities consider excessive speed a factor in the crash.
