The Acadia Parish School Board has unanimously approved a $68.59 million general fund budget for
2010-11 that projects a $1.357 million shortfall.
Business Director Mike Leonards said the district is facing increased expenses and less revenues.
Leonards expects the district to be faced with $2 million in increased costs for teacher retirements and about $700,000 more in the board's share of the costs for employee health insurance.
