NEW ORLEANS - Federal authorities filed charges today against an Abita Springs man accused of running a massive child pornography ring from his home.

The U. S. Attorneys' Office in New Orleans said Jonathan Johnson, 27, ran two sites were a combined 27,000 people from around the world uploaded and watched child porn. He was initially arrested in June 2013 and has been in federal custody ever since.

Prosecutors said Johnson's site also detailed how members could convince or coerce children into sending them sexually explicit videos, and how members could keep from getting caught by law enforcement.

The U. S. Attorneys' Office said 35 other people have been arrested or charged with child porn trafficking as a result of their investigation into Johnson's site, and 160 child victims were identified or rescued by law enforcement.

Johnson's arraignment was scheduled for Feb. 24.
