WBRZ to air LSU season-opener against Oregon
BATON ROUGE - The Tigers will play their season-opener on a nationwide stage this fall when they face Oregon on network television.
ABC announced Wednesday it will televise the Cowboys Classic on WBRZ as the premier matchup for college football's opening weekend.
The Tigers will take on the Ducks in Cowboys Stadium on Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. CST in Arlington, Texas. Both teams are expected to be pre-season ranked in the top five nationally, according to LSU Sports Information.
LSU finished 11-2 in 2010 with a win at the Cotton Bowl over Texas A&M, while Oregon finished 12-1 and lost to Auburn in the BCS National Championship Game.
The Cowboys Classic will be the first time LSU and Oregon have played it each other since 1977, when the Tigers beat the Duck 56-17 in Tiger Stadium.
