LAFAYETTE- A two vehicle crash on La. Highway 339 south of Lafayette has claimed the life of an Abbeville woman.

State Police say the car she was riding in failed to stop at the intersection of Highway 339 and Savoy Road and was hit on the passenger door by a truck.

Tinker was pronounced dead at the scene.

The car's driver, 68-year-old Joseph Tinker, was taken to a local hospital. The driver of the truck was not injured.

The accident remains under investigation.
