It is a pretty quiet start to the day around Baton Rouge. We are very warm and muggy with mostly clear skies and temperatures in the upper 70s.
Get ready for a hot one this afternoon with partly cloudy skies and only isolated showers and thunderstorms. This is thanks to a cold front that is stalled along the I-20 corridor and the sea breeze. The storms could be strong at times. High temperatures will be in the mid 90s and the heat index will be around 100 to 105.
Any storms that pop-up will dissipate once the sun sets, and then we will have a few leftover clouds. It will stay warm and muggy with lows in the mid 70s.
