It was a very active start to the day with some severe weather across the Baton Rouge area. Those storms have weakened, and we are left with scattered showers and a few thunderstorms for the rest of the morning. A few of these storms could become strong with gusty winds and heavy rain. Otherwise, it is mostly cloudy with temperatures in the 60s.
A cold front is slowly moving across Louisiana and it is weakening as an upper-level low moves off toward the Great Lakes. This, and an unstable air mass over Baton Rouge, will be the focus for additional showers and a few thunderstorms throughout the day with a sun and cloud mix. Some of the storms could become strong to possibly severe with damaging winds and heavy rain. It will be very warm and humid with highs in the lower 80s.
We will have partly cloudy skies tonight with a few showers. Patchy fog will also be possible. Lows will be in the lower 60s.
