"A Slap in the Face"
RAPID CITY, SOUTH DAKOTA- A man doesn't face jail time for using racial slurs and pouring beer on American Indian children, which activists call "a slap in the face."
Trace O'Connell pleaded not guilty to disorderly conduct, which spurred protests and had critics saying the charge is too lenient. His trial on Wednesday was moved to a high school theater to accommodate a crowd of about 130.
Students from a high school and their parents were there to observe. The incident happened at a hockey game in January.
This is a bench trial where the judge will make the ruling since there is no jury.
