911 call released in murder of 62-year-old man
AMITE- Police charged a 63-year-old woman with manslaughter after her brother was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon.
Daryllynn Hill was booked hours after the crime in the 100 block of South Second Street. Chief Jerry Trabone said Hill stopped cooperating with their investigation and they are not sure why she shot her brother, Alfred Hill, 62.
Police said Daryllynn called 911 when Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's deputies fired tear gas into her after she barricaded herself in there following the shooting.
"There is someone trying to kill me in my home," she told the 911 dispatcher through a calm voice, yet coughing from the gas. "Can you send the police right away," she asked. At one point, canisters being fired into the house can be heard in the background.
"Nine-one-one tells her to step out because the police are outside," chief Jerry Trabone said. "Well, she didn't step out. Finally, they went in and she was sitting on the floor," he told ActionNews17.com.
Hill was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish jail.
