BATON ROUGE- Nearly 90 law enforcement agencies across the state are participating in a national campaign to keep drunken drivers off the roads during the Christmas and New Year's holidays.
Louisiana Highway Safety Commission spokeswoman Jamie Ainsworth said in a news release that people with 87 state law enforcement agencies will work additional hours to enforce DWI, seat-belt and other laws during the holidays.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration provides funding for the extra effort.
