IBERVILLE PARISH - Bond has been set for a man who was arrested in connection with the death of his wife after her body was found in Whiskey Bay in April.

28-year-old Jonathan Allee was taken into custody by local sheriff's deputies after the naked body of his wife, 28-year-old Elizabeth Ferrell, was discovered by a fisherman in the water underneath I-10. The coroner confirmed that she'd been strangled to death with a later autopsy revealing she also suffered blunt force trauma to the head.

According to the Iberville Sheriff's Office, Allee's bond has been set at $750,000.

Allee was arrested in Humble, Texas where he, along with Ferrell, were residents at the time of his arrest. He was extradited to Louisiana where he faces a second degree murder charge.

According to Iberville Parish Sheriff Brett Stassi, Allee and Ferrell had a "very volatile relationship."

The Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office led the investigation in the case and traveled to Humble to collaborate with detectives from the Harrison County Sheriff's Office to piece together the days that led up to Ferrell's death.
