7-year-old shot in Hammond drive-by
HAMMOND - A mother rushed her 7-year-old to the hospital after he was hit in a drive-by shooting in Hammond.
A woman, her son and another person were driving down South Morrison Blvd. when two men in a dark blue pickup truck pulled beside them and began firing.
Both adults noticed their passenger window was shattered but did not know the cause. They realized they were shot at when they saw the bullet wound on the child's hip.
The 7-year-old is in stable condition.
Hammond police are currently investigating the matter.
