7-year old's friend speaks about slain child
BAKER - The childhood friend of the boy killed in a drive-by shooting over the weekend, spent time today remembering his neighbor.
Terrez Coleman, 7, was shot and killed while riding in his family car, with his siblings and parents.
Deputies think someone passed by their car on Prescott Road near Joor and opened fire on the car.
Coleman's friend, Marcus Spears, 11, learned the news on Sunday and spent the night grieving for the boy he called his brother.
"All the days we spent together, I first met him when I was one, he came over with his sister and when he died it just changed me," said Spears. "When I heard it, I just bust out crying."
Spears is still coping with the loss, though he spend the day at school, he just hopes deputies can find justice for his friend.
"I dream about him, I hope about him, and I just really hope they find the person that killed him," said Spears.
The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office asks anyone with information to contact detectives.
