7 women accuse Oregon anesthesiologist of sex abuse
THE DALLES, Ore. - Five more women have accused an anesthesiologist at an Oregon hospital of sexual abuse, bringing the total to seven.
The Oregonian reports Dr. Frederick George Field was charged with rape and felony sexual abuse in an arraignment Monday, based on the new allegations.
A Wasco County grand jury originally indicted the 45-year-old Field last week on accusations of sexual abuse involving two patients at Mid-Columbia Medical Center in The Dallas.
Some of the women accusing Field say they were molested while they were incapacitated by anesthetics.
Hospital spokesman Richard Baltus says the latest woman to accuse Field was a hospital
employee, not a patient.
Field was arrested July 28.
The Northern Oregon Regional Correctional Facility's website indicates he is still in jail.
A call for comment Tuesday to his lawyer Stephen Houze wasn't immediately returned.
