PRAIRIEVILLE - Sheriff's deputies arrested seven people and said one is still at large as part of a drug investigation in Ascension Parish which narcotics said involved an unusual type of narcotics.

Deputies said the arrests were made after an investigation earlier this week which also turned up drugs, thousands of dollars in cash, and several guns.

Detectives said the night of March 16 narcotics agents held a surveillance operation at a Prairieville home suspected of dealing drugs. The detectives stopped a vehicle leaving the home and said the people inside, 19-year-old Micah Rousse and 17-year-old Brandon Cooper, had marijuana and controlled ADD medication in their possession.

Investigators said the pair told detectives the ADD medication was bought from 17-year-old Hunter Easley, who detectives later found at his home and arrested along with Rousse and Cooper early the morning of March 17.

Detectives said they also got a warrant to search Cooper's residence and found five people there; 20-year-old Michael Brown, 20-year-old Corey Garner, 23-year-old Joemichael Taylor, 19-year-old Kelsey Salbador, and 17-year-old Breana Nolen. Detectives said when they entered the home Brown, Garner and Taylor fled, but Brown and Garner were later located.

Taylor is still at large, and detectives said he's wanted for possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a schedule II CDS, three counts illegal carrying of weapons, possession of schedule IV CDS, and resisting an officer.

Once inside detectives said they found drug paraphernalia, xanax, promethazine with codeine, three hand guns, $5,000 in cash, and approximately $8,000 worth of marijuana and a substance known as butane hash oil wax. Detectives said it's the first time they've seen butane hash oil wax, which they said looks like roofing tar and is vaporized then inhaled through pipes found on the internet, in Ascension Parish.

The seven people arrested face the following charges:

* Hunter Easley, 17, of Prairieville was charged with distribution of a schedule II CDS.
* Micah Rousse, 19, of Gonzales was charged with possession of marijuana.
* Brandon Cooper, 17, of Prairieville was charged with possession of a schedule II CDS, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
* Michael Brown, 20, of Prairieville was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of schedule II CDS, three counts of illegal carrying of weapons, possession of schedule IV CDS, and resisting an officer.
