64 stitches for boy after dog encounter
HOUMA - A 4-year-old boy who stuck his head through a fence while talking to another child was mauled by a pit bull dog.
The Houma Courier reports that it took 64 stitches to close wounds to the head and face of Christian Silver.
The Terrebonne Sheriff's Office said no charges have been filed because the attack happened in the dog owner's yard. However, the dog was picked up by Animal Control after the Tuesday attack, police said.
