6-year-old dies in I-10 wreck in New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS - A 6-year-old girl has been killed after the car she was in flipped several times on Interstate 10 in eastern New Orleans.
Police say it happened around noon Monday near the Morrison Road exit.
Investigators say the 36-year-old driver was headed west when she lost control of the Chevrolet Suburban causing it to overturn multiple times. The little girl was ejected and died en route to the hospital.
Three other girls, ages 6, 9 and 10, who also were in the car were taken to an area hospital as a precaution; the driver was transported in stable condition. Authorities did not describe her injuries.
Police say charges against the driver are pending.
