MARRERO - Jefferson Parish deputies are hunting for whoever shot six teenagers, including a 13-year-old and two 16-year-olds, in Marrero.
Sheriff Newell Normand says none of the injuries were considered life-threatening, although the 13-year-old was shot multiple times. Deputies collected spent casings from AK-47, .45-caliber and .9mm guns.
So far, investigators do not have any leads on suspects or a motive.
The teens told an investigator that they were standing at a corner Sunday night, waiting for a ride, and someone started shooting. They said they took off running and the shooters kept after them.
The sheriff's office says a witness reported seeing a black vehicle speed off, but none of the victims reported seeing a vehicle. Deputies also say the witnesses could not identify their assailants.
