$500,000 bond set in shooting deaths
A state judge has set a $500,000 bond for the 28-year-old Baton Rouge man accused in the AK-47 shooting deaths of a woman and her son.
An attorney for Jay Winters Jr. says he will push to have the bond lowered.
Winters, charged with two counts of second-degree murder, is accused of supplying alleged shooter 17-year-old Derrick George Gordy with an assault rifle, then driving Gordy and another teenager, 16-year-old Demario Alexander, away from the shooting scene.
Gordy and Alexander also are charged with two counts of second-degree murder.
Forty-year-old Patricia Aldridge and her son, 21-year-old Ronald Thacker Jr., were gunned down Sept. 30 in front of Aldridge's home.
