50 Iraqi sailors trained for patrol boats in La.

The Navy announces the graduation of the first 50 Iraqi sailors to go through patrol boat training in
Louisiana.

The 90-day course was held at Swiftships Shipbuilding LLC of Morgan City, which is building 15 of the 35-meter boats for the Iraqi Navy.

The course includes classroom, simulator and 32 hours at sea.

Capt. Ed "Junior" Turner, commanding officer, Naval Education and Training Security Assistance Field Activity, spoke at Thursday's graduation ceremony.

The next class of 50 sailors is expected to start training in August.
