A family is safe after a fire broke out in their home at 3157 Lake Forest Park in Baton Rouge last night.

Investigators say the fire started when a 5-year old boy was playing with matches.

The fire spread from a closet, to bedrooms, and finally to the attic. The rest of the house sustained heavy smoke damage.

Five people were in the home at the time of the fire, none were harmed.
