5 run 8th lifts LSU baseball to series win vs. Tennessee
BATON ROUGE - Faced with the same situation that hurt the LSU baseball team on Saturday, the Tigers responded in better fashion Sunday, breaking an 8th inning tie wide open with 5 runs in the bottom of the 8th.
The Tigers had not lost a game all year when leading after the 7th, but that streak ended on Saturday and Tennessee threatened to make the same thing happen on Sunday.
Instead, Connor Hale broke a 4-4 tie with an RBI double that scored Jake Fraley to make the score 5-4.
The Tigers (33-11-1, 12-8-1) maintain their top 3 position in the SEC West, trailing Alabama and Ole Miss each by one game.
