5 hurt in partial house collapse in New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS - Five people have been injured during a partial house collapse in New Orleans' Lakeview neighborhood.
Authorities said the building collapsed about 11:30 a.m. Thursday near the intersection of Mound Avenue and Catina Street.
A spokesman for the New Orleans Fire Department tells The Times-Picayune that calls initially indicated that people were trapped inside the collapse, but no one was seriously injured.
EMS spokeswoman Liz Belcher says five people - all listed in stable condition - were taken to area hospitals.
The cause of the collapse has not yet been determined.
