MEMPHIS - A 5-foot-long snake slithered across the windshield of a Tennessee family's car during a road trip.

The Fishers were driving down Sam Cooper Blvd. when they noticed the snake on their windshield.

"All of a sudden the thing is snaking up, like out of the engine, coming at us. And I'm like...what in the world?", said Tony Fisher

Tony grabbed a camera and filmed the snake, while his wife, Rachel, continued to drive.

The parents were scared, but the three children in the backseat, all under the age of 3, were anything but scared.

The Fishers posted their close encounter with the snake on YouTube. Viewers who saw the video were confused as to why the parents didn't pull over to let the snake slither away.

But the parents said it didn't even cross their minds to pull over.

"I mean we were going down the interstate, going fast, and the babies were in the car. I mean, we didn't even think about pulling over, yeah. We didn't know what kind of snake it was. We just knew that it was on our windshield."

Eventually the snake just dropped off the car.
