48th Street fire still under investigation
BATON ROUGE - Firefighters are still investigating a house fire that started Wednesday morning in the 1000 block of 48th Street.
The Baton Rouge Fire Department responded to the house fire at 11:50 a.m., and it took nearly an hour for firefighters to get the blaze under control.
When firefighters arrived on the scene, they said fire was coming from the rear of the house. As crews began to fight the fire, it spread to the front room causing heavy fire and smoke damage to the structure.
No one was home at the time of the fire, which remains under investigation. Foul play is not suspected, according Baton Rouge FD.
