47 dogs seized; police looking for suspect
ST. MARTINVILLE, La. - The St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office say they are looking for a second man believed to be involved in a dog fighting ring.
35-year-old Antonio Boyd of Breaux Bridge is wanted in connection with suspected dog fighting, drug and weapons charges.
The first man arrested, Jason Haskett, was taken in Wednesday after officials searched a residence in the 1400 block of Breaux Bridge Senior High School Rd. where the suspected dog fighting happened.
Police seized 47 dogs during the search.
Haskett was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center Wednesday. His bond is set at $65,000.
Investigators say Boyd was arrested in November of 2010 on fifteen counts of aggravated cruelty to animals, eight counts of simple cruelty to animals, and two counts of dog fighting.
