$4 dollar a gallon gas likely by May
NEW YORK - Gasoline prices are expected to spike another 60 cents a gallon or more by the month of May.
The Oil Price Information Service said it is going to be a chaotic spring, with huge price increases in some places and gas possibly averaging $4.05 a gallon.
Rising prices are an annual spring ritual largely because of seasonal demand according to the Oil Price Information Service.
Refiners also switch from winter formulas to more expensive seasonal formulas to meet stringent environmental standards.
The average price of gasoline increased last week by 2.4 cents in Baton Rouge to $3.38 a gallon.
The national average last week was $3.43 a gallon.
