4 arrested during undercover child porn operation

NEW ORLEANS - Four New Orleans area men are behind bars for possession and distribution of child pornography as part of an undercover operation, according to an announcement from Louisiana Attorney General "Buddy" Caldwell's office Monday.

The operation was begun in mid-Februrary by the Attorney General's Cyber Crime Unit, which includes members from Louisiana State Police, New Orleans Police, Homeland Security Investigations, the United States Postal Inspection Service and affiliates from the Internet Crimes Against Children task force. The following arrests were made this month as part of the operation:

  • 28-year-old Brian Boiteaux, of New Orleans, was arrested on Feb. 20. He was booked into Orleans Parish Prison on 15 counts of possession of pornography involving juveniles.
  • 45-year-old Scott Whittington, of Jefferson, was arrested on Feb. 11. He was booked into the Jefferson Parish Jail on one count of possession of pornography involving juveniles.
  • 44-year-old Jimmy Parker, of Metairie, was arrested on Feb. 9. He was booked into the Jefferson Parish Jail on 34 counts of distribution of pornography involving juveniles and three counts of possession of pornography involving juveniles.
  • 32-year-old Zachary Hardouin, of Metairie, was also arrested on Feb. 9. He was booked into the Jefferson Parish Jail on four counts of distribution of pornography involving juveniles and two counts of possession of pornography involving juveniles.

If convicted, each of the men faces a possible sentence of 20 years in prison for each count of possession or distribution of child porn.
