4 accused of dealing marijuana, sex with minors
GONZALES - Narcotics agents with the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office and Juvenile Division said they arrested four people while searching a Gonzales home rumored to be used for dealing drugs and underage sex.
Agents said two of the people arrested lived at the home, and two more arrived at the house while agents were searching it.
Detectives said they got a search warrant for 36-year-old Jose Hernandez's home after they learned he was trading marijuana for sexu with minors. During a search of Hernandez's home in Gonzales narcotics agents said they found marijuana, a handgun and drug paraphernalia in Jose's possession. Detectives said both Jose and his roommate, 25-year-old Simeon Hernandez, also admitted to having sex with minors.
Agents said while they were searching the home another man, 23-year-old Tevrion Carter, arrived there to drop off some marijuana. Detectives said Carter fled when he saw narcotics agents, but was later caught by deputies at the intersection of La. 429 and Roddy Road.
Deputies said they made a fourth arrest when 36-year-old Adam Hopp of Gonzales also came to the house during the search. Detectives interview Hopp and said they found out he was in possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies said two juvenile females were with Hopp in his vehicle, and they were released to their guardians.
The sheriff's office charged Jose Hernandez with three counts felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile, possession of marijuana, distribution of marijuana to persons under 18, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, illegal carrying of weapons and possession of drug paraphernalia. Simeon Hernandez was charged with one count of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile.
Tevrion Carter was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, aggravated flight from an officer, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, passing in a no passing zone, and illegal backing. Adam Hopp was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
All were booked into the Ascension Parish jail.
