3rd Circuit invalidates Forest Hill mayor recall
A recall election for Forest Hill Mayor Marcia Young scheduled for May 1 has been called off.
The state 3rd Circuit Court of Appeal reversed a March 3 state court ruling, which had declared the recall petition valid.
Young appealed the ruling arguing the petition was invalid because it contained names of people who do not live in the village of Forest Hill.
The appellate court says the recall petition is invalid because the chairman of the recall committee failed to file a three-day notice of intent to file as required by state law.
The court says seven people who signed the recall petition live outside of the village.
