3D work to be performed at sinkhole site
BAYOU CORNE- The company blamed for a sinkhole in Assumption Parish will perform 3D imaging on the cavern, deep underground, to get a 21st Century look at its integrity.
The state ordered Texas Brine to do the new tests, instead of drilling new test wells. The company said Monday it will comply.
The images should be ready by the end of April.
The sinkhole developed in August after months of mysterious bubbles and ground tremors in the area. Scientists said a salt brine cavern failed.
