30 state, federal, local investigators probe hanging death
PORT GIBSON, MS - The FBI says a black man found hanging in Mississippi is Otis Byrd, a convicted killer whose family reported him missing more than two weeks ago.
FBI special agent Don Alway said Friday that 30 federal, state and local investigators are on the case trying to determine whether it was homicide or suicide.
Alway says "everybody wants answers and wants them quickly." He says the government is bringing the resources "we need to come to a conclusion, wherever that takes us."
