DENHAM SPRINGS - Three teenagers who escaped from the Bridge City Center for Youth are back in custody.
Jerel Giarrusso, a spokeswoman for the state's Office of Juvenile Justice, says Livingston Parish sheriff's deputies on Tuesday arrested the teenagers in Denham Springs.
Col. John Fortunato, a spokesman for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office, says the 18-year-old, 17-year-old and 16-year-old offenders were arrested while in a stolen vehicle. The Times Picayune reports the teenagers scaled a barbed wire fence Monday afternoon to escape the facility, and disappeared into the nearby neighborhood. The youths had been jailed for a variety of charges ranging from armed robbery to
simple burglary.
Giarrusso says it was undetermined whether the teens would face charges for the escape.
