3 shootings in Baton Rouge within 12 hours
BATON ROUGE - With two separate shootings in the Capital City overnight and another reported Thursday morning, Baton Rouge Police are now investigating three shootings within a 12-hour period.
The latest shooting happened this morning around 9 a.m. on Columbus Dunn Drive. Details are limited, but News 2's Jessica LeBlanc was at the scene and confirmed a man was taken to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital.
The first of the three shootings happened on Callahan Street around 9 p.m. last night where police found a man who had been shot several times in a driveway. The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries described by police as life-threatening.
Just an hour later Wednesday night on Cannon Street, officers found a 24-year-old man shot several times in the street and pronounced him dead at the scene. Police said Thursday morning the victim was identified at Marquis Latrelle Wyatt, 23, of Baton Rouge. They said details about the shooting and its motive were still unclear.
