3 LaTech players granted sixth year of eligibility
RUSTON, La. - Three Louisiana Tech football players have been granted a sixth year of eligibility.
The National Collegiate Athletic Association ruled Thursday on appeals for Richie Casey, Jeremy Graffree and Andrew Guillot.
All three Bulldogs sustained multiple injuries in the past that prevented them from competing for four years in their five-year windows. NCAA rules stipulate that a student-athlete has five years from the first day they enroll in which to play four.
Casey, a wide receiver from Homer, enters the 2013 season with 75 career catches for 764 yards and four touchdowns; Graffee, an offensive lineman from Gauthier, Miss., played four games for Tech in 2011 when Tech won the Western Athletic Conference Championship; and Guillot, a wide receiver from Slidell, has 45 career receptions for 373 yards and one touchdown.
