3 firefighters charged with arson
BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. - Three volunteer firefighters in Hancock County have been arrested on allegations of arson.
Hancock County Sheriff's say that on Friday that 27-year-old Marie Gill, of Gulfport, faces two counts of arson and one count each of conspiracy to commit arson and tampering with evidence.
Twenty-nine-year-old Korri-Don Jones, of Pearlington, and 39-year-old Leslie Cheramie, of Bay St. Louis, face charges of conspiracy to commit arson and accessory after the fact.
Authorities allege that the three started a marsh fire a week ago in Logtown in the Pearlington community and a marsh fire near the Clermont Harbor Pier in early December.
Gill had recently joined the Kiln Volunteer Fire Department. Jones and Cheramie were with the West Hancock department.
