3 arrested in fatal hit and run in Terrebonne Parish
GRAY- Resulting from an investigation, Troopers of the Louisiana State Police located and arrested three people responsible for a hit and run accident involving a pedestrian on Wednesday night on LA 24 South. The accident took the life of 53-year-old Troy Jackson.
The crash occurred Wednesday around 11:30 p.m. on LA 24 South near the Evergreen Cajun Center when a Chevrolet Silverado truck was traveling in the left lane.
Jackson was also in the left when the truck approached and struck him. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Terrebonne Parish Coroner.
The driver of the truck was 21-year-old Draven Henden of Bourg, La. After the incident, the truck was seen on LA 24 North stopping at the Terrebonne Truck Stop, according to State Police.
Through the help of witnesses and video surveillance, Troopers were able to locate Henden as well as two passengers, 18-year-old Valen Billiot and 20-year-old Andrew Martin of Houma, who were in the truck at the time of the incident.
Hendon was charged with felony hit and run and obstruction of justice. Billiot and Martin were also charged with obstruction of justice as they attempted to help Henden avoid prosecution by giving false information about the crash, according to State Police.
