3 accused "Christmas Vandals" busted
DUTCHTOWN- Three teenagers have been arrested, accused of destroying thousands of dollars worth of Christmas displays in Ascension Parish.
The trio has been nicknamed the "Christmas Vandals" by deputies. A tip led to the break in the case.
Roarke Dunn, Rendell Reid and Adam Dellucci face charges in connection with the case. Dunn and Reid are from Geismar; Dellucci is from Brusly.
"While this type of senseless crime shocks the conscience of everyone who cares about personal property and the Christmas season, this crime also served as a catalyst for the affected neighborhood to come together and do what neighbors should do, which is help each other out," Sheriff Jeff Wiley said.
WBRZ News 2 broke the story over the weekend. Then, surveillance video surfaced a few days later showing a group of teens knocking over displays. The neighborhood fought back, and soon had new lights up, and illuminating the night.
All three teens will be facing charges of 19 counts of criminal trespass, one count of felony criminal damage to property, 18 counts of misdemeanor criminal damage to property, and criminal mischief.
