BATON ROUGE - Today is the last day people in Baton Rouge can pay off misdemeanor fines and outstanding tickets before the city jail re-opens, and people who haven't could be arrested.
Starting Monday, people found with outstanding misdemeanor warrants could wind up behind bars as part of an operation to clear thousands of backlogged misdemeanor warrants from local law enforcement databases.
City court has seen an increase of hundreds more people showing up to pay off fines after the operation was announced.
News 2's Adrian Pittman will have more on the operation so far tonight at 6.
