23-year-old accused of sex with middle schooler
BATON ROUGE - Sex crime investigators accused a Baton Rouge man this week of having sex with a middle school student this past summer.
Baton Rouge Police booked 23-year-old Joshua Jones into the parish jail on aggravated rape charges Wednesday.
Investigators said the victim told detectives the encounter with Jones happened in late June or early July. Police said the victim told them Jones did not know the victim's exact age, but was aware they were a minor.
Investigators said the victim met Jones through a friend and later invited him home while the victim's relatives were asleep. The victim also told police Jones had met them before at their middle school.
Police got an arrest warrant for Jones on Oct. 14, and arrested him on Nov. 19.
