21 miles in his shoes
DETROIT- Tens of thousands of dollars are pouring in for a man who says he typically walks 21 miles a day to and from work and has had perfect attendance for the more than 12 years.
Spotty bus service doesn't cover James Robertson's entire route at the times he needs to work so he walks about eight miles to his job and the 13 miles home. The Detroit newspaper wrote an article about Robertson and now tens of thousands of dollars are pouring in to help him buy a car and pay for insurance.
Some offers are even to drive him to work for free. Robertson's car broke down in 2005 and that's when he started making his daily treks on foot.
He works at a factory that molds parts.
