2015 Louisiana dove season's first split to open Sept. 5
BATON ROUGE- The opening split of the 2015 Louisiana dove season in the north zone will open Sept. 5 and run through Sept. 27 if the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service approves date submissions by the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission.
Additional north zone splits for dove would be Oct. 10 to Nov. 8 and Dec. 10 to Jan. 15. Splits in the southern zone are expected to be Sept. 5 to Sept. 13; Oct. 10 to Dec. 1 and Dec. 19 to Jan. 15.
Dove species eligible for hunting in Louisiana's 90-day season are white-winged, Eurasian, mourning and ringed-turtle doves. Hunters can bag 15 doves each day with a possession limit of 45.
