20-year-old LSU student killed after struck by train in Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA – A 20-year-old LSU student was hit by a train early Tuesday morning in Tuscaloosa.

According to ABC 33 in Birmingham, Katie Keogh was walking with several others on 10th Avenue in Tuscaloosa when they tried to beat a Norfolk Southern train.

According to the Associated Press, pedestrians were walking away from an entertainment district near the Alabama campus after the national championship football game

Witnesses tried to perform CPR until medical assistance arrived. However, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Keogh was visiting from Baton Rouge. According to her Facebook page, Keogh studied psychology at LSU.
