WBRZ - Baton Rouge

A Livingston Parish man is behind bars, after his two year-old daughter was found wandering down the road.

After receiving a call from a concerned citizen, reporting the child walking down Duff Road near Walker, deputies searched door-to-door for the child's parents.

Deputies later found Christopher Bringhurst inside him home, and found a marijuana "joint" lying on top of the television.

He was then taken into custody.

Bringhurst is booked into the Livingston Parish Jail on child desertion and drug possession charges.

He is being held on a $26,000 bond.

The child is now in protective custody.
