MONTEREY, La. - Two north Louisiana men face multiple hunting citations, and one is also accused of carrying a firearm while carrying marijuana.

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries says 46-year-old Michael Burley of Monterey and 22-year-old Duell Moreland of Jonesville were stopped in the Concordia Parish community of Monterey.

Department spokesman Adam Einck says Moreland allegedly had a Browning A-Bolt 7mm magnum rifle and Burley had a .444-caliber primitive weapon with a laser light mounted on it.

Modern firearm season for the area closed on Jan. 20.

Einck says both were cited for hunting without three required licenses, failing to meet deer harvest requirements, hunting deer with illegal methods and failing to wear hunter orange.

He says Sgt. Trey Mason found synthetic marijuana when he searched Burley.
