2 more arrests in NO shooting that killed 2
NEW ORLEANS - New Orleans police say two more people have been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting that killed two people and injured five, seriously wounding a woman and her two small sons.
A news release says 23-year-old Joseph Nelson III is accused of being one of two gunmen who fired into a group of people on Aug. 10. Police say 25-year-old Ashley Shorts allegedly helped one of those two avoid detection.
Police say Nelson was booked Monday with two counts of first-degree murder and five of attempted first-degree murder, and Shorts was booked with conspiracy to obstruct justice.
Police booked two other men last week - one on the same charges as Nelson, and the other as a principal to those crimes, for allegedly providing the car and a gun.
